Petroleum Minister’s Aide, Barr. Pereotubo, Felicitates with Tompolo on Birthday Anniversary
The Special Adviser to the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Barrister Oweilaemi Roland Pereotubo, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.
In a goodwill message released on Friday, Barr. Pereotubo described Tompolo as a "patriotic leader, peace advocate, and a true son of the Niger Delta," whose contributions to regional stability and development continue to earn national recognition.
He commended Tompolo’s consistent role in promoting peace in the Niger Delta and his unwavering commitment to the growth and empowerment of the Ijaw nation and the larger oil-producing communities.
“As you mark another year of grace and purpose, I join millions across the country in celebrating your legacy of peace, your tireless efforts in protecting critical oil and gas infrastructure, and your unparalleled dedication to the Niger Delta cause,” Pereotubo stated.
He also prayed for continued wisdom, strength, and long life for the celebrant, noting that Tompolo remains a symbol of resilience and service whose influence transcends local politics.
Tompolo, a former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), currently plays a key role in securing oil pipelines and maritime assets through his company under the Nigerian government’s surveillance contract—an initiative credited with helping to reduce oil theft and boost production.
The congratulatory message adds to a growing list of tributes pouring in from political leaders, traditional rulers, stakeholders in the oil and gas sector, and community groups across the Niger Delta in celebration of the respected leader’s birthday.
