The executive members of Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN) Anambra State Chapter today paid a visit to the Chief Press Secretary to Anambra State Governor. Mr James Eze at the Press Unit of Anambra state government house, Awka.
Receiving OMPAN members, Mr Eze appreciated OMPAN team for making out time to visit the Press wing of the government. Mr Eze on the ground, emphasized on the damaging effects of peddling false news and urged OMPAN as a media institution to be an engine that will help curtail fake news in the country.
The Chief Press Secretary also stressed on the need to promote the state positively in media as to attract investors, foster growth and development in various sectors of the state government and thereby stir the zeal of the state indigenes and non-indigenes to invest in the state, 'Aku Luo Uno' of Anambra state government.
In this sequel, chairman of OMPAN Anambra state chapter, Comrade Mike Nwachukwu, promised the Chief Press Secretary that OMPAN was rooted on a strong foundation and all news emanating from all OMPAN bloggers and social media influencers are not faked or substituted.
Comrade Nwachukwu however, requested for a synergy with the press unit of Anambra state government which was granted automatically by the Chief Press Secretary.
